largest real estate company in Alabama] for a few years
before I joined TMR. It took me a while to choose a company

the company. He puts his principles and values above
anything or anyone. He is fair in everything that he says or
does. He promotes integrity and a sense of togetherness
where all of his employees work together as a team. There is
no back stabbing, and there are no political games played
int eh office. I consider Tom and all of the other employees
to be my second family. Each individual agent works at their
own pace, whatever that may be. Tom lets you be your own
boss, and in turn supports in any way that he can. He in not
demanding.
Tom Murphy is a motivator of his
agents at all times. He lets you know he is appreciative of
yo and your efforts, and that you are doing a great job for
him and his company. He is wonderful for reiterating this to
his employees time and time again.
Lastly, the reason I work for Tom
Murphy Realty is because I am extremely happy and satisfied
working here. I have been more successful in my real estate
career since I have been employed with the company. All of
the above reasons contribute to my success and happiness. I
wouldn't dream of working anywhere other than for Tom

BUNNI MILLER: I began my real estate career in 1994 with
what is now the largest real estate company in Alabama. In
September 2003 I joined the Tom Murphy Real Estate team. I
say "team" because this describes everyone from the office
staff to Tom Murphy himself. I was slowly loosing the
ability to negotiate for my clients due to being in a
limited consensual dual agency relationship. More than 80%
of my transactions were co-oped with agents in the same
company. This was probably my biggest reason for
transferring my license to TMR. The clients that I have
represented in the last year have appreciated my negotiating
ability, they were truly represented. Bigger is not always
better! I love being apart of the TMR team.
LEE MITCHELL: I like the relaxed atmosphere in the office

MONICA MITCHELL: My Husband (Lee) and I choose to work at

SYBIL OWENS: My mother has been in real estate for over 30
years. I have grown up with it as a part of my life. As I
talked with her about what to look for in a broker and
agency the best advise she gave is: "You will know it when
you find it, it will just feel right." And she was
right!
I spoke with several smaller and
larger agencies. The smaller agencies didn't provide me with
enough support and the organization that I felt I needed as
a new agent. While the larger agency felt too much like a
corporate machine to me. TMR was right for me because it is
a medium sized agency, servicing the entire Birmingham metro
area. I can either focus on one part of town or dip a little
in to all areas. The new agent orientation/training is
informative providing me the basics of office and Birmingham
Association of Realtors policies and procedures, with the
added knowledge of the day to day operations from the eyes
of an experienced REALTOR. The fact that these training's
are done in a group setting (or individualized if need be)
allows you to build relationships with your peers. You can
share your successes, failures and pending successes with
others who know how you feel. On the other hand, the
seasoned agents and support staff at TMR have graciously
offered their assistance and expertise to help me
succeed.
- So when you get down to it,
I chose TMR because it felt right. I knew when I met with
Shirley Shaw and Tom Murphy that this was the office that
I would

JODI ROGERS: I chose Tom Murphy Realty because the
moment I walked in the door, I felt comfortable. Everyone
was very down to earth and willing to help. I never was
too nervous to ask anyone questions and I knew they
wanted to help!
SHIRLEY SHAW: I have been in Real Estate over 25 years and
with TMR about 6 six years.
The over all mission of our
industry is the HIGHEST AND BEST USE OF LAND.
I have always had a burning desire
that everyone reach their potential in life; that is if that
is their desire. I have found this opportunity in the Real

In our office the office staff is the
most supportive of any firm I have ever had my license with.
At TMR staff answers to the agents. If staff cannot tell an
agent yes, staff members are trained to have us go to our
owner and broker Tom Murphy. I wondered if this was just
policy or if it happened in a real situation. It is true for
real! I was put on staff as Career Development Coordinator
this year. This is actually a position I take seriously.
Once an agent comes with our firm, they are supported with
training by Ginger Bryant a certified instructor with B.A.R.
, and A.R.E.C., and is a veteran Realtor with a wealth of
real estate experience. This training is in class as well as
one on one. Each Agent coming to TMR also has a mentor. All
training is of no expense to the agent. Working at TMR has
truly been a blessing in my life.
